Day 1 of D blogging- Need a new friend???

Today's D-Blog Week Prompt: "It seems the most popular thing about Diabetes Blog Week is that it helps us find blogs we weren’t reading yet and connect with some new blog friends. With that in mind, let’s kick off Diabetes Blog Week by making some new connections. Think about the d-blogs you read that you think we may not know about and introduce us to one that you love!! Let’s all find a new friend today!"

I started blogging back in 2008.

Before I blogged- I scrapbooked.

I have been scrapbooking for years and each of the kids have 5 complete albums of special events and holidays from birth to age 8. They are absolutely beautiful (if I do say so myself- and I just did!)

However, the older they got...the busier we got. It didn't mean I stopped taking pictures....I just didn't have the time to scrapbook them anymore. (running joke with my family is "if I don't take at least 50 pictures at any given event"- it's like it didn't happen) So - long story short, I started blogging- as a much easier way to display our memories of special times and events for years to come!

I didn't start blogging as a D- Mom. My daughter, Kaci was not diagnosed until July 28, 2009. Even after she was diagnosed- I didn't consider myself a D- Blogger. Diabetes is not who we are as a family- or even who Kaci is. It is just a little part of our family and of her. So- while occassionally my posts will be consumed with Diabetes anger, frustration or the like- more often than not, they are just filled with my " random thoughts" on our daily life.

However,  in the last year or so- I have become aware of the many other D-bloggers and D- Mammas out there in Blogland! So today- I wanted to share with you the links of some of my favorite D-Blogs.

Go and check them out. You won't be sorry you did. On any given day- any of them can make you laugh or cry. They will all make you feel connected to them in a special way. They will all make you feel like you are not alone with this crazy, day to day D stuff!
