Meet June

Well, by now everyone knows that we have a Mae in our house.
But- you may not know that we also have a June.
Here she is ...

I think she is a toad.
(How can you tell the difference between a toad and a frog?)
I think a toad is bumpier and fatter with shorter legs....
I think that makes June a toad.

Anyway- she appeared about 9 days ago on our back porch. She shows up about 9p.m. and is gone by 5:30 a.m. In between that time- she hangs out on the porch and (hopefully) eats her fill of all the disgusting bugs that are flying around out there. I usually see her at 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. when I am letting Miss Mae out to pee!

I think she must especially like june bugs...because our porch seems to be covered with them at night.

Now, you might be thinking that is why I named her June...and well.....
 it is not.
I named her June because she came after Mae (the dog!) LOL! And also - she appeared in the month of June....
but, well maybe also because I think she eats june bugs!

Anyway...welcome June!

The early bird gets the worm!

I love Miss Mae!

She is a great dog.
The first word her owner used to describe her was "CHILL"
She is so chill.

On July 4th she will be 3 months. She has been with us for 2 weeks.

She. Is. Chill.

So far she has not chewed anything
(well, just a tiny corner of Clint's shoe)

She hasn't had any accidents
(well, just 2 in the living room- but I am sure it was my fault because I didn't take her out in time)

She isn't rough, or loud
(I think I have only heard her bark twice)

She knows how to sit and stay.

She listens when you ask her to stop.
She still has sweet puppy breath.

I love everything about her!

Well, except the fact that she likes to wake up about
5:30 or 6 every morning!

Um, did she not get the memo that this is SUMMER! You stay up late and sleep LATER!! Bless her heart.

Her sleep routine sort of goes like this:

Wake up at 5:30- go outside, pee (I make my 1st cup of coffee) and she play's with Payton.

6:30- she eats breakfast ( I make my 2nd cup of coffee) plays inside, then back out to poop.

7:30- play some more....play some more, play some more (finally I am wide awake!)

9:00--- she is ready for her first nap of the day...........and the sun is up, I am all jacked up on coffee, I'm ready for breakfast, emptying the dishwasher and folding my 2nd load of laundry. I am exhausted but can't go back to sleep!

Don't worry- none of that will bother Miss Mae. She is getting a much needed nap. You know- she has been up since 5:30!

Globetrotter Camp!

The kids had Globetrotter Camp today. This is the 2nd year in a row that they have attended and the last year for Kaci (she will be too old next year)!

It was just for 2 hours at the 24 hour Fitness and most of the parents stay and watch. This, of course, makes me very happy!

They run drills, learn tricks and then played a "mock game." They also had a small group discussion on bullying, being positive and always giving everything your BEST!

At the very end, each child receives a certificate with their "Globetrotter name" and a cool Globetrotter Jersey cinch bag!

Sweet J and the Cheese took the time to autograph everyone's bag and take pictures.

So cool!

Kaci's Globetrotter name was
Kaci "The Animal" Borchgardt-
and Bailey was
Bailey "Bounce" Borchgardt
or Triple B!!

7th grade here we come!

Hard to believe this little girl is going into 7th grade next year.
It seems like I took this picture of her
(going into Kindergarten) yesterday.

All A's, All year and the smartest girl I know! Kind and caring with a heart of GOLD!

I am so proud of the girl she has become. 6th grade was easier than we thought it would be...in more ways than one. She never once forgot her locker combination, made new friends, loved her teachers and is going to be on the dance team next year.

There was that little hardship....when she was in a wheelchair for a few months....but let's remember the good times!

Looking forward to a great summer!

I love you, Kaci!

Beach Trip!

I fish, 2 fish, red fish......we all got a little sun at the beach, didn't we? A great trip with Mom, Dad and Amber. Clint stayed home to hold down the fort, work and watch the dog! Thanks Clint for watching over things while we were gone. We had a great time!

Dog sitting!

The kids are having such a good time watching the neighbors dogs. In the last month-
they have picked up 3 dog sitting jobs here in our culdesac.

This week they are watching Bailey Tate and Bailey Acosta!
Yup!
That is right....
2 of our neighbors have dogs named, Bailey!

How funny is that? They are both girls though!

Here is sweet Bailey Tate.

She has the prettiest eyes I have ever seen.
She loves to play fetch and greets you as soon as you open the door.

Here is Bailey Acosta!

She is a feisty little thing and loves to run laps around us in the backyard. She is full of energy and always smiling (just like she is in this picture!) So sweet!

Last day of 4th grade....

Today was the last day of 4th grade! It has truly been a great year at Parkside and we are so thankful that Bailey had Mrs. Griffith as his teacher.

A new school district, a new school with new friends and teachers- had mom pretty worried last summer.Thankfully- Bailey is smart, funny and outgoingn and with the help of his awesome teacher - he had no problems at all.

We are so proud of the boy he is growing up to be. Straight A's all year and a heart of gold.
We love you, Bailey!

Another Home Visit

Well, here she is again...Miss Mae.
I think she has us wrapped around her little paw!

We picked her up Wednesday after school and let her hang out at our house for a few hours.
She is so calm and very chill!
It didn't take long before she was pooped and needed a nap.
 What a pretty face.
Payton is still getting used to the idea of her being around. She isn't so sure about her- but-

she was protective of her when we brought her in for a nap though. She didn't leave the blanket until Mae woke up.
Here is Miss Mae getting a little rest time in with Clint, Bailey and Payton. She needs to make sure Clint likes her too!
We love Miss Mae!

To puppy...or not to puppy...

That is the question!
Could she be any cuter?

I think not.

Nothing is more precious than a sleeping puppy. It is the "AWAKE" time that often proves more difficult! The teething, the digging, the biting, the pooping and the peeing.....

Are we ready for all of that? ...

Wait....who am I kidding....
Am I ready for all of that?

She is cute and everyone in the family will love her- but there will be ONE OF US who gets to love her the most and that will be ME!

I will get to clean the messes, wake up in the night when she cries, potty train, feed, walk and take to her vet appointments. ACK! Luckily - she gets to come over for a visit today. Let's hope she is on her best behavior and that in just 2 short weeks she gets to come home with us for good.

In the meantime...we need help with a name.
 Any suggestions?
