"Where a kid can be a kid!"

Yesterday was an early release day for the kids! We had planned to meet up with some friends at Chuck E Cheese. unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. Our friends live a little more in the "hill country" than we do and they feared ice on the roads on their travels home should they head this far to meet us. The kids were really upset to hear that they could not come- but I figured it shouldn't stop us....and it didn't.
We headed on to see the Big Cheese anyway- and boy am I glad we did. It was so much fun- just the 3 of us. Kaci and Bailey had a great time and got along the whole time we were there. I don't think anyone fought the whole time! We shared a hamburger pizza and salad bar- floated out bodies in Coke Zero, played lots of games and got lots of tickets!
Chuck E has a nice nutritional information chart on their website and each piece of pizza is 24 carbs (of course Kaci grabbed the 3 biggest pieces) ha There count must be pretty darn good- because her blood sugar was perfect at bedtime and this morning! I love it! I told the kids this was my treat to them for Valentine's Day!
Clint bought them tickets to go and see Cirque De Soleil! I think they are going to LOVE that even more! - but we love Chuck E Cheese too! Stay posted for pictures of our trip to Allegria...coming soon!

If you look at what you have in life, you'll always have more. If you look at what you don't have in life, you'll never have enough!-Oprah Winfrey

I love this quote I found today!

I love these old Valentine pictures of Kaci and Bailey!

They make me smile....

And I need a smile today!

Happy 100th day of School!

Here is a goofy little poem we sent to Bailey's teacher today!
They are celebrating the 100th day of school today-
Bailey was so excited about all of the fun things
they were going to be doing-

Mrs Farque-

There are hundreds of fabulous words to describe you
On this 100th day of school!
We think you are cute, your witty your smart-
you make school really cool!

There are hundreds of things you do each day
to treat us so special and kind!
We really want you to know
that we think that you are a special find!

Thank you for teaching Bailey each day
And all of his classmates too!
We wish we could keep you 100 years-
You are "one of a kind" in all the things you do!!

"You can't change tomorrow... but you can ruin today, worrying about tomorrow!"

Kaci found this heart on the inside of her Activia yogurt lid this morning. It was a nice start to this gloomy and rainy day. Put a smile on both of our faces....Bailey's too!

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do!

Kaci worked very hard to make her coins line up just right~

Wow~ What a great job!

Here is Kaci's picture for the "Wall Of Change".....This represents the amount of time that has passed since she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. (She was diagnosed on July 28th, 2009)We are sending in our spare change to make a difference! You can too! You can also check her out on the web at- http://www.pumpwearinc.com/index.php?page_id=468

Sell all you can.....eat the rest!

Today was a BIG day for Girl Scout cookies! Kaci sold34 boxes at Uncle Chad's work. He had a manager's meeting here in Round Rock and asked us to stop by and bring us his cookies (he had placed an order last week). When we got there....everyone wanted some cookies! Good thing the car was packed FULL! We had planned to go and sit on the corner at Grandmas Dee's house after school- but after stopping by Chad's work- we had to come home and reload!
It was cooler than we thought outside, but 30 minutes and only 2 customers later ....Kaci had sold another 10 boxes!WOW~ She has already reached her goal of 200 and we are now shooting for 325~

The wheels on the bus go round and round....round and round...round and round....

Today was Bailey's first field trip! The Kindergarten classes took a trip to Zilker Park for lunch and play and then got to see a laser light show of, Good Night Moon, and Runaway Bunny!
Bailey was super excited about riding on a school bus for the first time!

Here is the gang enjoying lunch at the park. It was a little cool outside, but the kids didn't seem to mind a bit.
I was lucky enough to be one of the mom's chosen to go on the trip with the class. Here we are waiting for the show to begin!

It was great day! Very tiring....but well worth it!
