Diamondbacks!

While I was at the JDRF Conference- Kaci, Bailey and Clint were busy with baseball duties! Not only did Bailey have a game today at 9:00- he also had pictures at 8:00 a.m.
When the alarm went off at 6:30 this morning - the first words out of Clint's mouth were," Who plans pictures for 8:00 in the morning?" CRAZY!
Although I couldn't be there - one of the other team mom's shared this picture she took with me. What a nice looking group of boys!

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

I am so excited to write this post- Below you will see a picture of me and Kerri Sparling. She is the cute and witty author of the blog, Six Until Me! You can check it out by clicking on this link-

Kerri was invited by JDRF Austin Chapter to be one of the keynote speakers at the Conference that is being held on Saturday, March 31st from 8-4.

to read the blog entry that I wrote several months ago when I found out she would be the keynote speaker at the Conference. So excited!

As soon as I found out she was coming - I expressed my joy and excitement to Amy Hyman, the Outreach and Development Manager for the JDRF Austin Chapter. You can read more about her here

Amy is AWESOME and I love her so much! She was a God send when it came to the help and support I needed from SOMEONE...ANYONE... after Kaci was diagnosed! She was always willing (and continues) to help me out when it comes to questions or support or in giving me ways to give back to the JDRF community that helped me so much when this was all new to me.

Well, needless to say- she out did herself when she asked me to attend a dinner Friday night at ZTejas with Kerri Sparling! I was so nervous and excited! What to wear? What to say?

Well, all that worry for NOTHING! We had a GREAT time! Kerri was just like I thought she would be; funny, thoughtful, smart and a great listener. It really was like having dinner with an old friend. I also enjoyed the company of Amy, Theresa, Christina, and Cassie!

Truly a night to remember.
I wish the pictures were better- I only had my phone!

The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring.

Don't get my wrong.....I enjoyed winter.
I LOVE Christmas!
I LOVE cold weather and hot Starbucks coffee!
I LOVE decorating the Christmas tree and shopping for family and friends!
I LOVE the holiday break the kids get from school!
I LOVE snow days (or in most cases here in Texas....ice days!
I really LOVE not having to mow the yard!
But I am sooooo ready for Spring!
Here are the top 10 things I LOVE about Spring...in no particular order....

1. Making the kids take these silly Spring pictures! We do it every year. Every year they hate it when we get in the car, but once we get where we are going....they are full of poses!

(Here is one of those poses they were full of! lol!)

2. Warmer weather!

3. A whole week off of school...also known as Spring Break!

4. Lots and lots of Easter candy!

5. Cold Starbucks drinks!

6. Planting flowers and (don't tell Clint), mowing the yard.

7. The start of baseball season. I love to hear the baseballs cracking off the bats

8. Longer days... 9. Being able to wear flips flops- but honestly this is something I do all year round :)

10. The Texas bluebonnets and making the kids take their picture in them :)

Go D-Backs!!

Tonight was the first real season game! I am so proud of the Diamond Back! They did an awesome job and ended up winning 13-11! It was a close game. I don't think I have any fingernails left! LOL!

Watching Bailey play baseball is absolutely one of my favorite things to do! Way to go, Bailey!

Spring has Sprung!

We decided it was time to spruce up the yard and get ready to greet Spring. I am so glad it is finally here. I have missed it so much!

Not that I don't love winter- I do....but enough is enough! I need some sun!

My legs could blind you right now.

I was so proud of how well Kaci and Bailey worked together to get the flower beds ready. They planted all the flowers with little to no help at all!

I love new mulch!!

Kaci even helped Clint fertilize the grass! Come on Spring! - Let's do this!!

I need hope.....

I need to read this over and over again.....
"The scriptures say that there must be an opposition in all things. The adversary uses despair to bind hearts and minds in suffocating darkness. Despair drains from us all that is vibrant and joyful and leaves behind the empty remnants of what life was meant to be. Despair kills ambition, advances sickness, pollutes the soul, and deadens the heart. Despair can seem like a staircase that leads only and forever downward.Hope, on the other hand, is like the beam of sunlight rising up and above the horizon of our present circumstances. It pierces the darkness with a brilliant dawn. It encourages and inspires us to place our trust in the loving care of an eternal Heavenly Father. There may be times when we must make a courageous decision to hope even when everything around us contradicts this hope. As one writer expressed, “in the depth of winter, we find within us an invincible summer.”"

Girl Scouts in Wonderland

The day we have been waiting on for weeks FINALLY arrived!- The Daddy/Daughter Dance is HERE! This year's theme is, "Girlscouts in Wonderland!" How cute is that?

As soon as I heard the theme- I just knew I had to get Kaci the cutest Alice in Wonderland dress there was out there! Unfortunately- everywhere I looked they were for tiny little girls- or tweens. Kaci is a "tween" size girl now- but the "tween" size costumes looked like they should be on girls who work at Hooters. Needless to say- I couldn't find a cute one for the dance.

Then-I had the brilliant idea to post on facebook if anyone had a cute dress or costume that we could borrow - or an idea of where to find one less "hooter- ish" Thankfully, Grandma Becky from work - saw my post and graciously offered to make one for Kaci. AMAZING!! So ....scroll below to see her masterpiece.....

Is that not the cutest Alice you have ever seen? Kaci in Wonderland looked fabulous for the dance! I just love how cute it turned out. We lucked out and found the perfect headband, knee highs and shoes!! Grandma Becky was so patient with us and made adjustments to the dress 3 times with no complaints! Bless her heart!

Here they are smiling one more time for me! I just love how cute they look together here in this one. I was so thrilled that Clint was feeling good enough to make it to the dance. I don't think he would have missed it for anything.

Here is Kaci showing off her wrist corsage!

It was a perfect match to her dress~
