Bailey and Ms. Heather

Dear Parents,

I give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to my care last fall. I give him back pounds heavier, inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than her was then.

Although he would have attained his growth in spite of me, it has been my pleasure and privilege to watch his personality unfold day by day and marvel at this splendid miracle of development. I give him back reluctantly, for having spent nine months with together in the narrow confines of a crowded classroom, we have grown close, have become a part of each other, and we shall always retain a little of each other.

Ten years from now if we meet on the street, your child and I, a light will shine to our eyes, a smile to our lips, and we shall feel the bond of understanding once more, this bond we feel today. We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give him back I must.

Take care of him for he is precious. Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his destiny, where ever he goes, whatever he does, whatever he becomes. His joys his sorrows I will be happy to share. I shall always be his friend.

~ Growing up is a process, not an event.

Conference Cafe Menu
Beginning of first grade~
Ready for second grade~

Yesterday we had a Conference Cafe at Kaci's school....also known as a student led conference. It was so cute. She had a menu of items made up to show me. I got to view her Reading graph, lots of her published work in writing, her beginning and end of year math test, as well as her science notebook. She has really learned a lot and she is so smart. We just found out last week that she will be in TAG for math next year. We all know she gets the"math smarts" from her mom! ha She is growing up so fast! Next week she gets to go on a field trip to her new school! She is going to do so well in 2nd grade, but right now all she is looking forward to is SUMMER! Me too!

Wild Boy!

Bailey's new WILD about Kindergarten t-shirt!!

This has been a busy week! As the end of the school year gets closer and closer- it seems like there is more and more to do!Bailey has been practicing for his big end of year performance at school this week. They will be singing several Hawaiian themed songs for the big graduation luau! Here is one picture of them in action. I can't even listen to him sing the song without crying....not sure what is going to happen to me graduation night! OH no....grab the tissues!

Earlier this week- on Wednesday, we left school early to head to Kinder Cub Camp at Bailey's new big boy school! He wasn't sure he was going to want to go off with a teacher without me, but quickly changed his mind when we got there. We meet up with Ali and her mom, Laura. Laura and I have known each other since Kindergarten- and now our kids are going to school together! So cool! I am very excited for Bailey. He is such a smart boy and I know he is going to love being at school with his big sister! Hard to believe it is almost time for my last baby to start Elementary School. I am OK about it now- but check back with me in August. I am going to be a mess!

Mother's Day was perfect! We celebrated by going out to dinner on Saturday night to beat the rush on Sunday. The Cheesecake Factory is always a hit with our family. Amber, Mom and Dad joined us there too! It was tons of fun and soooo delicious! Kaci gave me her handmade gift from school- an awesome clipboard that she had scrap booked for me, along with the sweetest letter I have ever read. I also got a Starbucks gift card and a coupon good for ONE FREE camera of my choice! WOW!- and Bailey picked out the funniest Sponge Bob card ever! As we were leaving the restaurant, Bailey proudly showed all of us how he had written his name in his best handwriting on the nice cloth napkin at the table! ( I had to take a picture of that!)Too cute! Kaci and Bailey went home with Grandma Dee and PaPa that night while Clint and I rented some movies and hung out at the house together.

Sunday morning - I was treated with a Starbucks after Clint picked the kiddos up from my folks!
Mom, Dad and Amber came over and hung out in the back while the kiddos splashed in the pools and we played a few games of baseball with Bailey's new baseball digs. It was a great relaxing day! I am so thankful for my wonderful children.- All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my children!

Bowling is a sport that could be right down your alley!

Kaci and Bailey are joining a bowling league this summer that starts the 2nd week in June. There team will also have their good friend, Romy on it! We are so excited! Jessica thought of a cute team name and they will be going by "Pin Pals" So, Kaci and I worked on making their team shirts this weekend -and this is what we came up with. The team name is on the front and the back has their name on it! So cute! I can't wait to see everyone in their shirt...more pics to come when that happens on the first day of league! Stay tuned..............

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.- Dr. Seuss

Today we went to the festival at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church. Bailey and Clint decided they wanted to stay home and take it easy- so just Kaci and I meet up with Amber, GrandmaDee and Pa Pa for some fun! Bailey said he wanted to stay home and "drink diet coke and eat pizza with dad"- so that is just what they did. Kaci and the rest of us played games, rode ponies, got out face painted, ate lunch, won 3 cakes at the cake walk, watched some dancers, won 2 bids at the silent auction and had a really great time! The weather was perfect- not too hot or cold! It was fun to spend some one on one time with Kaci too! It was a great day and here are some pictures to prove it!

Bailey makes the front cover of the Georgetown newspaper!!

Here is the small side caption that was in the
Williamson County Sun newspaper:

Grace Episcopal Preschool found the recipe for fun: One yard of dirt, 24 kids and a water hose. The school proclaimed Thursday, April 30 as "Mud Day." At right, Bailey Borchgardt is not afraid to get down and dirty on "Mud Day." Brianna Spencer runs behind Bailey for her turn in the mud.
