If life gives you lemons....make lemonade!

Today was the second day of Grace Camp!
Today's theme was Mad Science....it was loads of fun!

Kaci has been begging me for week to have a lemonade stand....
we finally decided today was the day!
Together we squeezed fresh lemons and added it to sugar water!

Kaci worked on the signs and decided the price was right at 50 cents a glass.

It was so hot outside but it wasn't long before our first customer got here. (Well, actually...our first customer was PaPa, He drove all the way from Cedar Park for a cold glass) Amber and Colton came over to join us as well. The first customer of the day gave the kiddos a 50 cent tip!

Our second customer was the UPS man. He also gave us a 50 cent tip and told us to fill his glass to the top! It was such a hot day- we told him if he passed by our house again we would give him a FREE refill!

Our third customer saw us from the main street as she was leaving the neighborhood and turned all the way around to get herself a cold glass. She also gave us a 50 cent tip! WOO HOO

We closed for a while to cool off and made and opened again around 5:30 to catch some people on their way home from work. When Clint came home he bought a glass and the neighbors across the street came over to get a glass too! Kaci and Bailey made a little over $8! Not a bad day at the lemonade stand! They want to try again on Friday...Please pray for rain! HA

Summer Camp!

Today marked the first day of Grace Summer Camp!

Kaci and Bailey are both enrolled, while I am teaching a class of my own! There are so many fun things planned for the kiddos this week.

Today's theme was "Camp Out." The kids got to bring their flashlights and visit the tent room. It was lots of fun. Kaci made s'mores and made her own 3-D tent picture. Bailey had fun meeting up with several of his Preschool buddies and playing dress up! It is going to be a fun and busy week. Stay tuned for more camp stories....

"Little League baseball is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the streets."

We signed Bailey up for T-Ball today at the YMCA today! We are all so excited! He will start practicing mid-September every Wednesday at 6:30. He will have games every Saturday until November 14th (my birthday) I can't wait to see him on the field. You can bet there will be many more posts about him and his team. Here are some pictures of the boys practicing in the backyard.

"All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt." - Charles M. Schulz

I told Kaci to take a picture of the chocolate pot for me! She didn't forget!
Kaci and Clint ... so sweet!

Enjoying the cheese!

With a smile like that....I think Kaci likes it!

Tonight Kaci and Clint went on their Father/Daughter date. They go out just the 2 of them once a month. Anyone who knows Clint and Kaci also knows that they are "Chocoholics!" They love chocolate...so Clint and I thought Kaci would love the Melting Pot! They had reservations at 6:45 and enjoyed eating the cheese and chocolate pots for dinner! Kaci loved it and can't wait to go back! They had a really great time.

The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Richard Bach

On Thursday, July 9th we loaded up the car and headed up to
Dallas to see our favorite Uncle in the World....Uncle Chad!
We were greeted by Josie and Stumpie...Uncle Chad's cats....Here are Kaci and Bailey posing with Josie. Stumpie was a little camera shy, so we didn't get any photos with him.
Uncle Chad is so sweet! He had a computer set up for both of the kiddos to play on while we were there. Here is how Bailey spent a good portion of the evenings!

The first day we made a trip to Grapevine Mills mall for some Lunar Golf. It was tons of fun! (Look at Bailey in this pic! He looks see through!)

This was my face after Clint made a hole in one. Kaci doesn't look so surprised does she?
I guess she knew her Daddy could do it!

While walking through the mall we found a little train store and Uncle Chad treated
the kids to a ride on the train....we even saw Mater there!

After all that walking....we were hungry so we went to the Rainforest Cafe for some yummy lunch! We couldn't leave without getting a delicious Volcano for dessert! Kaci was in heaven!

Kaci at the check stand!

Daddy and Bailey chillin' with the frog out front!

After lunch, Uncle Chad treated the kids to their very own Build A Bear from inside Rainforest Cafe! Kaci chose a snow leopard and named her, Dolly. Bailey got a panda bear and named him Max. They used their own money to buy them each their own special outfit!

Bailey was rubbing his heart on his face to make his panda bear handsome....like he is!
Saturday morning we went to Main Event for a little bowling!

We had lots of fun in the arcade too! Bailey and Kaci both tried to win the Jackpot case on Deal or No Deal! Bailey walked away with close to 30 tickets...Kaci walked away with 4.
Here is Bailey waiting to hear what the banker had to offer!

Kaci took on Uncle Chad in air hockey- While Bailey took on Clint.

Here is Kaci waiting for the bankers offer.
We had a great weekend in Dallas! Thank you, Uncle Chad!
We can't wait to do it again real soon!

Money may buy you a fine dog, but only love can make it wag its tail. Kinky Friedman

We brought Chelsea Jane home today!! What a great puppy.
The kids just love her and so do Clint and I! She played in bursts and slept in marathons today. I think she was tired from getting her shots yesterday- as well as nervous about the big move. She seemed to think Reagan was her Mommy from time to time. Reagan is adjusting well, but Missy Prissy ....well, that is another story. It may take her a while...a long while! ha But she is sort of "Prissy" so that is to be expected.

Kaci picked out a new collar for her tonight at the store. The one she had bought for her a few weeks ago- seemed to be too small and too hard to open. The one we found tonight is even cuter and we got Reagan one to match! Pink with polka dots...ADORABLE!

I am sure there will be many more pictures and posts about Chelsea Jane!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We started our celebration of July 4th on the 3rd with Grayson staying over at our house. Clint came home from work a bit early and we all made it to the showing of Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs! It was so funny! Here's a pic of Kaci and Grayson in the theater and all 3 kiddos posing by the cool movie displays.

Silly kids!
Another cool display and 3 cool kids!

Grayson and Kaci waiting for the movie to start.

When the kiddos woke up on July 4th- they all dressed themselves in appropriate holiday attire and made their very own parade in our front yard. They made up their own holiday song and chanted it over and over again as they paraded up and down the sidewalk in front of our house and around the corner. Cars honked, neighbors waved and one even offered them frozen ICEE pops for their awesome holiday display!
They all 3 declared that this was the best 4th of July EVER!!

Later that evening we meet up with PaPa and Grandma Dee for some AWESOME Cedar Park fireworks. We found a great spot to make camp and waited for the sun to go down.

PaPa and Bailey played a little parking lot football to pass the time!

Kaci ate a Lick M Aid to pass the time!

The grasshopper sat on our blanket to pass the time!
Grandma Dee got some hugs from Bailey to pass the time!

It was a great night! The fireworks were beautiful! Can't wait until next year.

Smile!

Smile, though your heart is aching.
Smile, even though it's breaking.
Though there are clouds in the sky, you get by...
If you smile through your fears and sorrows.
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through.
If you just light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever, ever so near.
That's the time you must keep on trying.
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find life is worthwhile
If you'll just smile, come on and smile.
If you just smile

Let the Countdown begin!!!

We got to go and visit Chelsea Jane today. She is very happy and healthy!

She is just 5 weeks old. We are going to be able to bring her home on July 12th. That is 2 weeks sooner than we were originally told- but she is growing fast- strong and big!
She is very sweet and cuddly and already responds when you call her name. She is also familiar with the command "sit". I think she is going to be a very smart dog!

We are going to make a trip to Petsmart today to make sure we have everything she needs when she gets home. Let the countdown begin!!!
