vs. Yankees

The Dodgers put a BIG WIN under their belts tonight! They beat the Yankees 14-6 win! Just look at that smile on Bailey's face as he walks off the field. They are really pulling together as a team to make it happen! Snack time! I love to watch the boys gather around the cooler to get their treats!

Good Day Wednesday!

Have you had the Yogurt Experience? - Well, if you haven't, you should check it out! Kaci had her awards today at school and she received her dog tags for All A's and for reading over 10 Bluebonnet books! I am so proud of her. She has made All A's every 9 weeks with only one more to go this year!! It was also her day to choose the location of our "Good Day Wednesday" treat.

She picked the Yogurt Experience and it was good to the last bite!

Charlie Sheen isn't the only one WINNING!

The Dodgers had their 2nd game of the season tonight! So happy that Clint made it back into town in time to see the big game. Here is my baby before the game. So handsome! I just love him in this uniform.

Kaci decided to sit this game out and hang out with Aunt BerBer tonight. Amber picked her up after school for some "girl time" They went out to dinner tonight with Mark and Colton and she is spending the night!

It was am AMAZING game! The boys pulled out a BIG WIN! Final score 21-9! Way to go, Dodgers! That make for one tie and one win! Their next game is on Thursday, April 31st at 6:00. I hope they can keep up the good work. So proud of all the boys!

"Cookies and milk had their day!"

Isn't that one of the funniest things you have ever heard? We welcomed the first "Good Day Wednesday" in at Auntie Anne's Pretzels at the Outlet Mall. We let Bailey have first week's pick.

Just look at the treat he got! A pizza pretzel with marinara sauce! - and the pretzel was BIGGER than his head! ACK! Kaci got pretzel bits with warm cheese to dip them in! YUMMO!

I didn't eat lunch today - and got the same thing as Bailey. I think it may serve as my dinner tonight as well too!

"Swing batter, batter, SWING!"

Bailey had his first baseball game as a Dodger tonight. Clint was sad to miss it- but he is in California this week (AGAIN) on business. PaPa and Grandma Dee came out to help support the team- and Kaci and I were there cheering them on too!

It was a great game! Bailey got to play catcher, pitcher and left center. I was so proud of him,. He was baseball ready the whole game and the team played very well with only a few errors. It was a tight game and ended 14-14! Bailey scored the tying run!! AWESOME!

Way To Go, Dodgers!!

O my God, I am heartily sorry, for having offended Thee....

I am so proud of Kaci tonight for making her First Confession (Penance). She has been going to her R.E. Classes for 5 weeks now. She attends every Tuesday from 6:45-8 at St.Thomas More Catholic Church and will be receiving her First Holy Communion on Saturday, April, 30 @ 10 a.m. She has been nervous about "confession" and told me that she thought it was tonight. I reassured her that it wasn't. Boy was I WRONG! When we got there the door the the hall was locked, but we found an open door on the side and snuck in that way. Went upstairs and the classroom was EMPTY! So- we found someone to ask and they told us to head to the church. I knew at that moment...that I had been WRONG...but I didn't tell Kaci.
When we got in the church- everyone was seated with their parents and we recited the "Our Father" and the "Act of Contrition" together.

Then the children we asked to form 2 lines to go in and see one of the Priests to make their confessions. Kaci got in Father Larry's line and was the 4th one in to speak to him. She received a blessing when she was done and we got to leave for the night. Clint and Bailey were at baseball practice so Kaci and I had treated ourselves to dinner at Chilis beforehand. It was "Kids Eat FREE Night" Once I found out I had been wrong tonight about confession- I was very glad that I had taken her out for special treat before!!

Prissie Piggies are BACK!

Please check my Prissie Piggie blogspot out at:
http://prissiepiggies.blogspot.com/

Summer is just around the corner and it is definatley flip flop weather (if it ever wasn't- lol!) So, I am back to working on making shoes!! These are the Camo flips I made for Stephanie. I just love how they turned out. Almost makes me want to wear a pair!
I like to call these "Coffee Talks"

...and we call these, "Swing Batter, Batter.....SWING!"

"Good Day Wednesdays!"

The kids are back to school this morning and the house sure is quiet.
I must admit this "taste of summer" they call Spring Break has me craving more lazy days and QUICK! I can't wait to have my babies home EVERYDAY!

Since the next 49 school days will be a little bit harder to get through now that we have had a reminder of what those precious summer days feel like-me and the kids have decided to start something called, "Good Day Wednesdays!"

This means that every Wednesday after school, Kaci and Bailey will get to choose a small treat to help them get through the week. Treats like: an Auntie Anne's pretzel, Yo-Yo's yogurt, McDonalds french fries, or a Sonic Slush!

I can't wait to let the good times of summer roll....but until then...."Good Day Wednesdays" will have to get us through!
** I will try to use the rest of the afternoon to catch up on Spring Break posts**

"If you worried about falling off the bike, you would never get on"- Lance Armstrong

Kaci and I decided a few days before Spring Break that we were going to use this week to buy her a new bike AND learn to ride it without training wheels. So- we headed to Academy with Clint and Bailey to help her pick out just the right one. I love it....the purple and turquoise are so bright and cheerful. We have been working really hard on it for the last several days at home. Today, while Bailey and Clint are at a birthday party- we brought it over to PaPa and Grandma Dee's to try her skills out in their culdesac!

PaPa promised to run fast and hold on tight to her seat and handle bars if he needed to!

She is growing up more and more everyday! Wish I could freeze time!

If God had wanted me otherwise, He would have created me otherwise. ~Johann von Goethe

I am: loving this picture of me and Justin Bieber!

I want: a hot bubble bath and a massage.

I wish: that my yardwork was done and all the flowers were planted for spring.
I hate: Diabetes!

I miss: when my kids were babies.

I fear: that something will happen to those I love most.

I hear: Kaci and Bailey laughing upstairs!

I wonder: how long it will take Kaci to learn to ride her bike without training wheels.

I regret: not living in the moment and having so much worry.

I am not: without worry or guilt.

I dance: for fun and pretty good!

I sing: loud (and probably off key!)

I cry: when I am stressed!

I am not always: patient or strong.

I make with my hands: bows out of ribbon, the bed, pictures on my camera, and dinner

I write: so I won’t forget.....I have lists for EVERYTHING!

I confuse: everyone! lol

Often, I need: a smile, a hug, and someone to tell me I am doing my best....pathetic, I know.

I should: learn how to say no when I mean no- and treat others the way they treat me....in both good and bad situations.

I start: to clean/straighten anytime I have nothing else to do.

I finish: what I start. Even if it takes my whole life.

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.- Picasso

Tonight we held a special event meeting at The Ceramic Lodge for Troop 2549. The girls worked so hard with their Fall Fundraiser and Cookie sales, that we decided it was time for them to have a little fun with the money they earned!

The people at Ceramics Lodge are so nice. They reserved the back room for us and taught the girls everything they needed to know to make their pieces turn out perfect!

Kaci choose this super cute puppy! I think it will turn out looking like Chelsea- we will see on Wednesday once our fired pieces are ready.

I think the girls had a great time. Looking forward to more special events in the future!

Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel Mark 1:15

Today is Ash Wednesday. It is the first day of Lent and occurs forty-six days (forty days not counting Sundays) before Easter. It falls on a different date each year, because it is dependent on the date of Easter; it can occur as early as February 4 or as late as March 10. Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. The ashes used are gathered after the Palm Crosses from the previous year's Palm Sunday are burned. This paste is used by the priest (or minister)
who presides at the service to make the sign of the cross, first upon his own forehead
and then on each of those present who stand before him at the altar rail.

We went to church at St. Thomas tonight to receive our ashes with PaPa and Grandma Dee. (Dad is out of town on a business trip) We went out to eat at Luby's afterwards....which has become a tradition on this day.

Kaci and Bailey want to try and participate again this year by giving up something they love for Lent. Kaci is going to give up soda water and Bailey is going to give up playing Angry Birds on Clint's phone and Clint's "Big phone"-the loving name Bailey has given his tablet! lol
It could be a very long 40 days! ha But -I am very proud of them for trying! I am going to give up soda as well. In the past, I have just given up one kind of soda, Mountain Dew. This year, Kaci has decided, that is cheating. I must give it up - ALL or NOTHING! So ....here it goes......
Has it been 40 days yet? LOL

You know what I did before I married? Anything I wanted to. - Anonymous

My parents are celebrating their 40th anniversary today! They decided to take a quick trip to Oklahoma for some gambling and to see Jay Leno perform stand up! I think it is a well deserved trip and I hope they have lots of fun and win LOTS of money!! 40 years is a loooooong time- and got me thinking about relationships and compromise.

Mom is housewife....she has worked out of the home and in the home over the course of the years. She has done it all...been a banker, worked in the school cafeteria, worked at Kmart, Target and Walmart- even worked at the Bingo Hall. She is on 2 bowling leagues, loves to play Bingo, Queen of the Football Pot and never meets a stranger. She loves murder mystery and chocolate (especially in the middle of the night)! She does not enjoy a visit to the doctor or the dentist. She enjoys chewing ice and peanut brittle. She helps me with the kids if I need her, sells Girl Scout cookies and listens to me ramble on the phone for hours.

Dad is retired from Fidelity Information Systems. He enjoys meeting up with his high school friends once a month for lunch, dinner or a good sporting event. He is a UT football season ticket holder and enjoys a good game. He rarely misses church on Sunday and loves a good breakfast. He reads the paper, surfs the web and watches world news. He is good at following his check up routines with the dentist and the heart doctor. He often makes trips to Houston to help his family or just to visit. He helps me with Kaci and Bailey, Reagan and Chelsea, and often mows my lawns and does my dishes!

Mom does the cooking; Dad does the eating. Mom cleans up; Dad feeds the dogs. Mom sleeps until 10, Dad is up at 7:30. They both enjoy working in the yard together. Their schedule seems to work for them, despite personalities on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Whatever it is they are doing- it seems to work....it has kept them together for 4 decades.

I remember when I was little how cool I used to think it was that my parents were still married (and this was when I was in middle school) So many of my friends parents had already divorced by then. I recently googled 5 Ways to Make Your Marriage Last- I thought this was an interesting 5 ways;

1. Be attractive to other men-
Way to go, Mom! I guess it is working.

2. Be happy!-
I like to call this one....Fake it until you make it! (something I often do it my own life with an array of subjects)

3. Keep up with the rest of the world -
ha! Funny!

4. Stop complaining-
What! Who thinks that is a good idea? Nah, I have to disagree....get it, complaining!? LOL!

5. Date your husband -
Aw, so sweet!

My mom and dad are THE BEST! I guess they must be doing something right, or maybe all of the above! They love me unconditionally. I can count on them ANYTIME & ANYWHERE! They are AMAZING! I wish them many more years of happiness!
Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

A Night In Paris

Tonight was the 3rd Annual Daddy/Daughter Dance for Clint and Kaci. The dance is put on by the Girl Scouts each year around this time of year. The themes are always great. Under The Sea, The 70's and this year....A Night In Paris! So much fun!
Here is a close up pic of Kaci's beautiful corsage. I just loved how it turned out.

This is always a night that Kaci thoroughly enjoys- she gets all the attention of her favorite person in the world, her Dad!

They left the house around 5:15 to catch a quick bite to eat before the dance started at 6- Nachos at Mesa Rosa hit the spot!

I am so proud of the 2 of them for taking some pictures for me with Clint's phone. Just look how cute this one is of the two of them in Paris!

Here is Kaci with a couple of girls from her troop! It was definitely a night to remember!
