A win for Snapple, Bret Michaels and us!
Bret Michaels: “My new tea is taste bud tested and rocker approved. I chose to create a Diet Snapple because I am a lifelong type-1 diabetic and I know together we can find a cure for diabetes. And just like being a diabetic doesn’t mean I have to sacrifice having a rockin’ good time, Diet Snapple doesn’t sacrifice great taste. My Snapple-osophy is simple: awesome taste, the best ingredients and low calories. And now The Best Stuff on Earth is better for me.”

Way to go, Bailey!
Today Bailey had his End of Year Awards ceremony and Sing Along! They did such a great job!
I can't believe that this year is almost over. AMAZING how fast it really went by.

Here is Bailey going onstage to receive his Dog Tag Awards. He earned all of his tags this year...meaning he mastered the math, science, reading and social studies standards. He also received a dog tag for his birthday, field day, tiger pride and star student in each of the special areas!
Afterwards his teacher gave out an individual award that best represented each child. Bailey got the award for being "Most Jolly" She said that even though he came in to Kinder ready to go to first...he still worked hard and helped others. I was so afraid that he would be bored with the curriculum since he is already reading at a 3rd grade level and doing the math of a first grader...but he is so social, that he made it though....looking forward to being challenged a lot more in first grade! Way to go, Bailey! I am so proud of you!

"Stand-up kids deserve to stand out!" -KOHLS kids who care scholarship program
Back in March- Aunt Amber entered Kaci into the KOHLS Kids Who Care Contest. She wrote all about all of the wonderful things that Kaci does to help her community, some of which include; volunteering with JDRF, collecting money for UNICEF with their Trick or Treat for UNICEF program, and helping the community through her Girl Scout troop! It was so long ago- we had actually all forgotten about it...until today when we got the mail!
A big white envelope came and notified her that she was chosen as a store winner and she was awarded a $50 gift card to KOHLS. She is now entered to win the Regional contest which awards a $1000 college scholarship! I am so proud of her and all she does to help our community! Be on the look out for her name and possibly her picture in the local paper sometime in June. Her name will also be listed on the KOHLS Kids Who Care website in June as well.

"Why not learn to enjoy the little things....there are so many of them."
Field Day 2010
Today was Field Day at Kaci and Bailey's school! What a great day! There were 12 different stations set up and the classes rotated through each one in 10 minute increments. Poor Bailey was pulling with all his might on this one...while Alahna seemed unsure of how she was supposed to help with the baton.
The weather was a little sketchy and the weatherman predicted a 40% chance of rain and even some thunderstorms. Love Bailey's face on this one!
I don't think the kids would have minded (minus the lightening and thunder) they were already getting wet from some of the games. This is a great picture of Bailey (above)
I thought this was such a funny station, "Monkey on My Back!" The kids just loved it.
Thankfully, the weather held out (although it was overcast and little bit cold) until Bailey's class had finished all 12 of their stations. Here is Bailey with his buddy,Andrew! They were so excited to have the same Field Day shirt and Mario swimsuit! Super cool!

Once Kindergarten and First grade moved indoors for dry clothes and lunch it was time for Second and Third grade to head out. A little bit cooler and a few more black clouds were lingering in the sky this time! Here is Kaci kicking the soccer ball for Gorilla Goalie!

The best thing to spend on your children is time!
Today was "Family Day" in Bailey's Kindergarten class. All parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles were invited up to have lunch with the kids and then join them in their classroom afterwards for a sweet book reading. We were also surprised with some very nice Mother's Day and Father's Day crafts made by the children
On the way to Bailey's classroom we were surprised with his art work that had been chosen to hang in the hallway. How wonderful! What great watercolor art!
Bailey made a very cute wooden plaque with his picture on it for Daddy. Underneath his picture it said- "chip off the old block!" How cute is that? I wish I had gotten a close up picture of it-
