THIS GIRL!

So proud of my Golden Spark!
She made competition team.

She has been fighting a terrible stuffy nose and cough all week.
I assume it is allergies- but not sure!
BUT- as usual...nothing stops her....

Not even her crazy blood sugar last night.

She went to bed at 9:30- but coughed until well after 10:30
- Just as she was starting to settle down after some cough syrup...
her low alarm sounded around 11:20.

You will see on her CGM graph that her sugar went all the way down to 40~ SCARY!

After about 30 minutes....we got it back up to a safe sleeping number only to be awoken again around 1:00 with another low reading. More juice, more missed sleep and the alarm awoke us again at 5:30 to get ready for tryouts at 7.
This girl was tired.
This girl was determined.
I am so proud of THIS GIRL~

Jack O Lanterns!

One of our favorite things to do as a family.....
carve, paint and decorate our pumpkins.
Kind of sad that the kids are so big now ...
they don't really need our help anymore.
Clint and I made sure we got to decorate our own pumpkins too!
Clint decided to go the Mr. Potato Head route...
It turned out pretty cute!
Bailey used the lumps and bumps on his pumpkin to his advantage. He painted the sunken part black for two eyes and used the big bump for his nose.

I painted my pumpkin teal- as part of the Teal Pumpkin Project.
Kaci spent a little time on her phone googling images to make sure her's was just right!
Bailey cut out a scary mouth and used
"pumpkin guts" as throw up!
Kaci has become a master of the pumpkin knife.
Here is Bailey enjoying his finished product and taking a few pictures to post on his Instagram account.
I love the blood he added!
Here is Kaci's pumpkin complete! Wow! Looks amazing!
 Way to go kiddos!
The Jack o Lanterns are ready for Halloween night!
 Spooky!

Good Day Austin!

Here are a few things I learned this morning after our Good Day Austin interview (In no particular order)

* Kaci is AMAZING!

* I am thankful for a husband who knows I can't drive (or park) downtown.

*I sounded more intelligent than I thought I would (yeah me!)

* Kaci is AMAZING!
(did I already say this?)

* We LOVE JDRF and their
full time commitment to a CURE!

*Bailey's smile can light up a room!

....and last but not least- T.V. can add 30+ pounds to an old mom body! LOL!

#Thankful  #Blessed (This old mom doesn't know how to use these hashtags things....but it sounds cute when you read it....hashtag thankful, hashtag blessed! LOL)

So much fun! Can't wait for the walk on Sunday!

Good Day Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

Kaci and I have been invited to appear on Good Day Austin (Fox 7) at 9:15a.m  to talk about The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the upcoming JDRF One Walk on November 1st.

It is  our 7th annual walk -  our team name is Kaci's Krushers.... As we plan to Krush Diabetes!!

As nervous as we are.....we can not pass up this amazing opportunity to show how much we care about this organization and it's mission!! Please plan to set your dvr's! We are very excited to be a part of this television event.

Trick or Treat!

These babies are ready for
Fall and Trick or Treaters!!

This is my fight song!

"This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I'm alright song.
My power's turned on
Starting right now I'll be stong
I'll play my fight song
And I don't really care if nobody else believes
'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me!"

We are just 6 days from the walk! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Kaci's fight to cure Type 1 Diabetes with a monetary donation or through the purchase of a team shirt!! Please wear them proudly throughout the month of October and November ( National Diabetes Awareness month)

While the amount of money that we raise each year means so much to us.... There is another way that you can show us your support and love and it is ABSOLUTELY FREE!!  It is the MOST IMPORTANT way- Please mark your calendars and plan to JOIN us at the walk on Sunday, November 1st at the Tony Burger Center- 3200 Jones Road Austin, Texas 78745. Check in is 8:30 and the walk starts at 10.  The walk is absolutely FREE! Free food, drinks, music, bounce houses, carnival games, prizes,  and MORE!!

This is our 7th year to participate- and while they are closer to a cure everyday- and continue to improve devices, monitoring and dealing with this disease...there is still NOT a CURE!!! However, the SUPPORT and LOVE we feel by those who CHOOSE to walk with us each year, blesses us on the day of the walk and throughout the entire year!

If you have not made it to one of Kaci's walks to support her--- please consider making it this year. Diabetes can often make those who are affected feel different and alone.... They must endure things that others don't often see or truly ever understand. This is Kaci's day to SHINE- and it would mean so much to have our biggest team yet!

We will never lose hope until a cure is found.
